Out With The New. In With The Old. Part 6 [03 Sep 2005|06:17pm]

Orlando was at a total loss for words for a few moments, completely stunned by the raw pain on Dom's face. That brilliant face was made for sweet, crooked smiles, and infectious laughter, not for pain and tears. Orlando was a sensitive bloke...far *too* sensitive sometimes, and he felt his own eyes fill with tears at seeing Dom's. He finally choked them back and pulled Dom into a hug, speaking softly against his hair. "He does love you, Dommie. I *know* he does...he's the closest friend you have in the world, yeah?", he soothed quietly. Dom tensed in his grasp for a moment, then clung to Orlando, sobbing unabashedly against his costume. Orlando went on speaking, not knowing what to say or do, only knowing that he had to comfort Dom somehow. He couldn't stand seeing him like this. "Dommie, I don't know anything about this other bloke you're talking about, but if what you're saying is true...that he left Billy...well...I can't right say that *I* understand it either." Orlando frowned, knowing he wasn't exactly being helpful, but he was at least *trying*. Billy, on the other hand, Dom's best mate, and apparent at least one-time lover, was nowhere in sight. Orlando didn't get that at all...how could he leave Dommie out here crying and in pain? That made no sense, and furthermore, it just wasn't *Billy*. The Billy he knew would never do that, least of all to Dom. Orlando shook his head slightly as Dom straightened up, wiping at his eyes. "Sorry, Dommie...I'm not much help, am I?", he asked with a half-smile. Dom smiled back, sadly. "You're brilliant, 'lando.", he said softly. "And you're a good mate...the best. Thanks, man, truly.", he choked out. Orlando rubbed his back a couple more times, then impulsively leaned in and kissed him on the cheek, smiling at him. "Billy'll come around, Dommie. I'd stake my life on it. After all... how could he not? He's got the chance to be with you, to have you love him, and that's a very special thing. He'd be a bloody idiot to walk away from it." Orlando colored slightly, and looked down for a moment, then met Dom's eyes again, a little shyly. "Yeah, I'm babbling.", Orlando laughed a little. "Sorry. Was just trying to make a point." Dom looked at him, smiling a little more genuinely now. Orlando could almost always cheer him up...there was just something about the elf that made him smile, even when things were going to shit. Dom shook his head a little, then actually grinned, the first real smile he'd had since waking. "You're bloody adorable when y' blush, 'lando, d' you know that?", he asked, laughing a little, and wiping at his remaining tears. Orlando laughed, then only blushed more. "Shut it, hobbit.", he tried to growl, but it came out in more of a purr that got them both to giggling. After a moment, Orlando looked over to Dom and hooked an arm around his shoulder. "Ready to go back in, Dommie? They're gonna wonder where you got off to.", he said softly. Dom leaned his head against Orlando's shoulder, sighing a little. "In a minute. Can't face Billy just yet, not like this.", Dom whispered. "I don't want t' upset him, 've already put him through enough shite." Orlando frowned. He said nothing, but wondered to himself how in the bloody hell Dom could be thinking only of Billy's feelings, even as his heart was being torn out by the roots. It only made him admire Dom more, and also started a small seed of anger inside him at Billy, wondering how he could be so blind as to throw away someone that others would give just about anything to have.

The Day After Part 5 [03 Sep 2005|06:10pm]

Billy woke to the annoying blare of the alarm clock and Dom wrapped around him. He reached over turning the alarm off and lay back down. Dom had not even budged with the blaring music. The room was still dark and Billy felt utterly exhausted. Two and half hours of sleep...he knew he was going to be dead on his feet. With a sigh he looked down at Dom in the darkness, thinking back on their late night activities. It had been nice. Quite enjoyable, but it had not magically changed how Billy felt about Dom. He was not in love with him. It had been just a fuck. Something they both needed. It had not brought about what perhaps Dom was hoping and in the pit of Billy's stomach a sinking feeling began. Had he done the right thing? Would this only complicate things further? Would Dom take this for more than what it was? A small shudder went through Billy. He had heard what Dom had whispered before he fell asleep, but had feigned being asleep. "I love you Billy, this could be the start of something beautiful." Billy had pushed it out of his mind knowing he needed some sleep, but now that he was awake, it was eating away at him. This was not the beginning of something beautiful. In fact it could very well be the beginning of something disaterous. Billy cursed himself silently for even going through with such a thing knowing how Dom felt. He now feared the worst and was beginning to think he had made a huge mistake. Billy looked at the alarm clock and sighed heavily. He reached down gently shaking Dom. "Time to wake up Dommie," he said. Dom didn't stir. Billy tried once more, shaking Dom a bit harder. "Wakey, wakey." This time Dom stirred, mumbling something incoherent before stilling once more. Billy shook his head. Dom had never been a morning person since he'd known him and this day would be no exception. Billy sat up, reaching over to turn on the light as Dom slid down his chest and onto to the bed. Billy blinked his eyes in the bright light and turned to look at Dom who still lay sleeping. The man could probably sleep through a hurricane Billy thought. He reached over shaking Dom once more and then pulled the blankets off him. Dom shot up, hands grabbing for the blankets. "Shite Bills! It's bloody cold!" he whined. Billy grinned. "Time to get up or we're going to be late and Pete will have our arse's." Dom curled up into a ball still reaching for the blankets. "Just five more minutes, yeah."

Need Part 4 [29 Aug 2005|02:03am]

Dom smiled up at Billy, then looked down at his own stomach. "M' tummy.", he answered just as softly, "But a little lower." His voice was slightly husky, filled with want and need, but was also loving. Billy smiled back and started to move the cloth again, tracing it lower and lower. It felt indescribably wondrous, but Dom stayed Billy's hand gently, needing to say something before this went any further. "I'll not expect more, love.", he whispered. "But I dream of you, Bills....dream of you touching me this way, caring for me. And it's beautiful. 'tis always so beautiful. We don't have t' do this, Billy. But I pray that we will. Our friendship is strong enough- believe me on that." Dom waited for Billy's response, willing to accept it, whatever it might be. This was in Billy's hands now; Dom had made it clear where he stood. And, it was not anymore to be chalked up to a drunken encounter. He was perfectly sober and knew exactly what his heart and soul needed. Billy. Always. Any way he could get him.

Not That Easy Part 3 [29 Aug 2005|01:52am]

Dom heard the honesty in Billy's voice as he said he wanted this- some part of Billy *did*, about that Dom had no doubt. But was it enough? Dom decided, as Billy's lips closed once again on his, that it was. He could settle for love from Billy, no matter what form it took. Just being close to him was enough, feeling wanted and needed by him, even if it was for the wrong reasons. Dom was drunk, but not nearly drunk enough to pretend that he didn't understand what was going on. Billy wanted him, yes, but he had not suddenly fallen in love with him. And that was okay, because Dom had enough love in his heart for the both of them. He would take anything Billy was willing to give him, and gratefully. This closeness, just being with Billy this way, was enough. It had to be. Dom kissed him back softly, hand reaching up to caress Billy's face. Dom pulled back slightly then, smiling. He disobeyed Billy's order to shush, but only briefly. "Love me, now, Billy. Love me any way y' can. Need you.", he whispered, then leaned back in, capturing Billy's lips again, this time with no hesitation.

The Confession Part 2 [29 Aug 2005|01:51am]

Dom finished his whiskey sour in one gulp, starting to feel the effects of the alcohol a wee bit now. Good. Drunkeness would be a blessing at this point. He waved a hand in the air, and the waitress came over almost immediately, glass of whiskey at the ready. She was getting the hang of things- small, depressed, slightly damp bloke in corner raises hand, waitress Trisha brings more booze. Excellent. Dom accepted the glass with a slightly slurred "Ta.", and went right to work on it. "I've got it! You need to do something to show this bloke how you feel. You know, send him flowers, or a gift of some kind. Write him a poem or something." Dom looked up briefly at Billy, thinking that the evening couldn't possibly get anymore weirdly ironic, then took one more fortifying gulp of his drink. "Excellent idea, Bills.", he smiled, then reached for one of the unsoaked cocktail napkins on the table with one hand and fished a Sharpie out of his pocket with the other. He set the napkin on the table in front of him and started writing, lighting a cigarette to aid his concentration. Billy looked at him with a raised eyebrow, but said nothing- he was used to Dom doing strange things at strange moments. Especially when he was halfway to being snookered. In the span of about five minutes, Dom had dashed out a somewhat cheesy, but completely heartfelt, few verses of love poetry that told the recipient just how very much he meant to Dom. There was a vase holding a single sad-looking carnation in the center of the table, and Dom liberated the flower, handing it, and the poem over to Billy, who looked at him as if he was off his head. "That kinda what y' had in mind, Bills?", Dom asked softly, knowing full well that Billy would take the whole thing as one of those weird Domjokes, the kind that only Dom knew the punchline to. Only this was no joke; in fact, Dom had never felt less like laughing in his life.

The Beginning Part 1 [29 Aug 2005|01:18am]

hobbithabit
Dom sighed and looked down at his surroundings. Here they were again; he and Billy, trapped up a fake, animatronic tree while everyone else went to lunch. Dom hadn't minded at first, had loved the solitude up here, the isolation, the time to think and plan out loud with Billy. In fact, Dom had *cherished* those times, had looked forward to them....right up until the time he'd realized he was falling in love with his fellow hobbit. Even Dom wasn't sure exactly when it had started-it had all come on rather gradually, snuck up on him, sort of. But, there had been no doubt in his mind what was happening when one day, last week, he'd been chatting with Billy, about football, of all things, and had leaned over and come a hairs-breath away from kissing him. There was no thought involved...it had simply seemed like the thing to do. The *only* thing to do. Dom had come so close, in fact, that he'd had to make up a ridiculous excuse about slipping out of his harness to explain why he was suddenly practically sitting on Billy's lap. He didn't think Billy had entirely bought the story, but hoped he hadn't any actual clue what the *truth* had been, either. Dom had even, on a few memorable occasions, gotten a hard-on while strapped into Treebeard. He'd tried to convince himself at first that it was simply some weird side effect of being balanced on a teeny, uncomfortable bicycle seat, but after a while, that excuse had stopped holding any water. After all, it happened *out* of Treebeard as well. In Makeup, on outdoor shoots, at parties...shite, even alone in bed. All of these things had one common denominator, however; Weasel only popped his head up when near, or thinking about, Billy. Which all posed a very unique problem. Billy was, as far as Dom knew, completely, utterly straight. He'd never given any indication otherwise, watched the birds walk by on set the same way Viggo or Astin did, with a wink and a grin. Though they'd become close friends, confidants, even, Dom had never revealed his own sexual orientation to Billy, afraid of what he might think if he were strapped up a tree for hours on end with a bloke who was wondering what he'd look like starkers, if his arse looked even nicer bare than clothed. The problem was, Dom's infatuation was getting rather difficult to hide- especially Weasel's recent antics. A few mintues before, Billy had leaned his head back and closed his eyes, trying to take an innocent little kip, and the little bastard had taken one look at Billy's gorgeous, perfect neck and had immediately saluted. Dom scooted around best he could on his perch, and sighed again, noisily. Billy opened his eyes and looked at him, and Dom blushed down to the roots of his hair, hoping like hell that Billy wasn't a mind reader. Dom cleared his throat and tried to make conversation, keeping his eyes averted from Billy. "So, uh....Bills. Did y' catch th' MannU game last night?" 'Oh, brilliant, Monaghan. More football.', Dom thought to himself. 'Dom and Billy sitting in a tree- K.I.S.S.I.N.G.' If only. Dom sighed yet again and scooted around in his seat some more. This day was turning out to be the longest of Dom's life.
